- If the modems have really been locked in Flash mode, you have been VERY
- unlucky. I have flashed 10 and have not had this happen to *any*. The
- not working in OS/2, DOS, and regular Winblows is kind of scary. I am
- guessing it is on the wrong COM port or something in those OS's.
-
- The TR light being on generally means it is getting a DTR signal from the
- computer. If it goes off when you unplug the serial cable, this shouldn't
- be a problem. The working under Windows 95 for only a little while gives
- me an idea of what might be happening there. I have talked with people
- whose Supras have NOT been recognized properly by Winblows 95, depending
- on the specific Winblows 95 machine somehow (it thinks they are serial
- mice). This only seems to happen if Winblows 95 sees the modem at boot
- time. If you turn the modem off while booting, then turn it on after
- Winblows loads, and tell it to Add New Hardware again, it should see it as
- a modem. It will then work again for 1 BOOT, unless you TURN OFF PLUG AND
- PRAY on the modem. To do this, go to a comm program and send an
- ATS193.0=0 command, then send an AT&W command to store this setting for
- the next time you turn the modem on.
